Rico's: Restaurant at G.T.B. Nagar , Delhi

Hello food addicts!!!! Are you eating well?? Looking for exciting restaurants to eat at??? Hungry but bored with your regular food??? Well I am here to help you with that. Keep reading this post to know more about Rico's and my experience there as a fellow food addict

Rico's is a small restaurant located in G.T.B. Nagar in New Delhi. Its very close to the Delhi University and lucky for us you can ride the metro there. Due to its proximity to The Delhi University, G.T.B. Nagar has numerous eateries with a lively , energetic atmosphere. The food is delicious, the quality is amazing and it is not too heavy on the pocket. As a frequent visitor to this area, I have had the pleasure of eating at quite a few of these places. But today I wanna focus on Rico's if you dont mind!!

Mexican Grilled Fish at Rico's

As soon as you enter Rico's you notice the energy coming out of the place. Bright lights, happy chatty people and a friendly staff. They also keep their desserts on display which makes you want to stand and stare like a kid.

The menu has a variety of dishes and covers a lot of cuisines. While the primary focus is on American,Mexican,Italian and continental cuisine there is also the occasional chinese dish.

One of my favorite is the Mexican Grilled Fish. The fish is soft tender and fresh. Considering that there are no fishing zones in Delhi, Rico's has always served the freshest fish. This also applies to all eateries and restaurants I have visited near Delhi University.

The fish is fried lightly and then a layer of this amazing sauce is poured over it which is absolutely delicious. Its a little spicy but exploding with flavor. Just to make things better Rico's also gives additional sauce in case you want to just get in there and lather that fish with some extra sauce. You can also use it as dip for the fries you steal from your friend's plate. Additionally , you get a helping of rice and some roasted veggies on the side which are tossed in some mexican herbs.

Now I personally love meat and fish but when I am out with my friends I need to consider some vegetarian options too because not everyone shares my obsession with meat. Rico's has an interesting fries platter consisting of french fries, potato wedges and corn and cheese fritters and the name is just as interesting: Thank God it's Fries .These are so good I don't even let my vegetarian friends eat them because it all goes down my stomach.

Thank God it's Fries at Rico's

You get a homemade dip with the platter which is quite similar to ranch. The fries are nice and crispy. The wedges are perfectly seasoned and the fitters have an amazing flavor profile.

Speaking of variety this next dish is a meat eater's paradise. It is the Non-veg Burger sampler.
3 mini burgers:Juicy chicken, lamb n cheese and a fish burger. What I love about the sampler is that it just does not provide variety in taste but a variety in meat too.

Non-veg Burger Sampler at Rico's

The presentation of the dish is brilliant. It is placed on a flat wooden board. You get a basket of fries on the side. The basket looks like a miniature version of a fryer. You also get 3 dips with the burgers.
The size of the burgers ensure that you can enjoy each one of them without compromising on the space in your stomach. This was the first time I tried a Fish Burger which i found rather unique. My favorite is the lamb burger though. It was very tender and juicy and it had the right amount of cheese on it. Also the tiny flags placed on the burgers just enhance the presentation of the food. Seems like they are wearing name tags to represent their meat groups.

There is also a vegetarian option for the burger sampler. The veg burger sampler has a veggie burst spicy paneer and hash brown onion ring burger.

After a nice meal of burgers, pizzas, enchiladas, fries and quesadillas, you need to keep that secret dessert pocket open for what is coming next.

               Waffle sundae at Rico's

I love waffles. I love how crunchy they are and I love how it tastes with chocolate and blueberry sauce. But Rico's was the first restaurant where I had waffles overloaded with scoops of ice cream. They call it the Waffle sundae.

The waffles are coated with chocolate sauce. Topped with a scoop of vanilla, chocolate and strawberry ice cream and then garnished with nuts. You can also ask for extra whipped cream if you have a stronger sugar craving.

I like to plan my food when I go to Rico's so that i always have space for a waffle sundae.

If you just want to enjoy waffles without the ice cream  Rico's has their chocolate waffle and black forest relish. I personally like the black forest relish as it has blueberry and strawberries on it.

If you guys are ever at G.T.B. Nagar  near the Delhi University and are looking to grab a bite and have a good time, I would definitely recommend Rico's.

Good day and Happy Eating!!!
